Did you see results? The girls U9 east bangu group did some SPAT this past summer and it looked intense. I know alot depends on the child but does anyone have an option of SPAT for a winter session or two at corner kick?

poor harold comments on Minnesota Thunder Academy

"poor harold" Exactly what point are you trying to make? One of the hallmarks of America is that people can choose to spend time and money however they choose. BANGU/MTA/MTE is about providing a more focused soccer experience, where your CC is about providing a different experience and both is great as long as the kids participating are able to develop and have fun. Unfortunately, you are only able to see this world as being black and white, good and bad.

miac fan comments on Minnesota Thunder Academy

If the other FCs were as successful as Bangu/MTA why aren't they winning 7-8 State Cup championships like the Bangu teams have done the last 3-4 years?
I don't think any other club won more than 1 championship this year or last year.
I find your "measuring stick" a bit inaccurate.
I've never had a kid in the Bangu program but I see them often in the MIAC and those kids have been well coached. Those MTA coaches are doing you real good....and laughing all the way to the bank - sucker.

Maybe I should mail you out a fresh bag of suckers. oops, my bad that's what MTA try outs are for: hee, hee, I am so funny.

I am starting a new FC and it is going to be called ATM. I am sure Harold is in. Harold likes to keep up with the Jones's so he can brag to those friends of his all over the metro area that his kid plays for the great MTA/ATM. I for one am proud of him.

anyway who cares, it's the start of hockey season. my kid will not even play a single second of soccer until next summer as will most of the FC's in the metro yet still be as competative as the kids that play and train all winter for the great MTA/ATM.

Harold comments on Minnesota Thunder Academy

Sorry Pete, I forgot Shoreview and John I'm not sure where exactly you live maybe Andover. Please work on world hunger, oil prices, and the housing market. Someone with your insight and intellect is wasting your pure genius on a youth soccer blog. I hope you can sense the sarcasm since I'm not really sure you can. Now to the point!! Please don't pretend you know us because you don't. I attend every practice and game. I also watch the kids and the coaches. In addition to paying for all my Bangu fees I also pay for private training on the side. Just because you think it is a waste of money doesn't make it so. You probably have hobbies or do things with your money that I would think was a waste. We chose Bangu because we decided what was best for our child, just because it isn't what you would do doesn't make it wrong. Actually after reading your comments I'm glad we chose what we did. You are, however, right that things will change. They will change for the better, that must piss you off even more. I was at tryouts and I would call them a success. Each and every team will be better than the year before, I would call that a sucess and progress!!!! I hate when people don't sign their names to their posts it so pathetic. If you are going to post something please don't be a coward and hide behind anonymous or some stage name. We then would at least know where the hate comes from. P.S. My daughters play for different clubs and they both love their teams and coaches. We (Parents and Kids) still have the same friends when we played in our community and now have friends in almost every suburb just from soccer. (Woodbury, Oakdale, Hastings, Blaine, Maplegove, Hugo, WBL,Vadnais Height, Hudson, Forest Lake, NSP, Maplewood, Edina,Mahtomedi,St. Paul to name a few.

Harold

re: MTA / NEWBIE / HAROLD comments on Minnesota Thunder Academy

To MTA - how much of the success of MTA is recruiting and natural player skill vs. the former BTA programs special training? Also, you could toss those kids in most other spots and they would be just as successful. As for "MTA" they have zero success and since the BTA program is no longer around MTA has a lot to prove. When ever a program changes it is never the same, only time will tell if future success is actually the development program or simply recruiting. MTA - you don't have to be a pro to figure out a scam just a bit of street smarts.

This should get this blog buzzing:
To all the wealthy families - your opinion doesn't count because you don't even bother to stick around and watch your kid actually practice and those of you that do are so self absorbed your not watching the coaches. And you would probably say anything to justify the money you pay for a program as to not look like your wasting money. So do as the good coaches at MTA want and shut up and pay the bills, so go be a good parent not watch practice and keep your moth shut because the coaches know what’s best for your kid.

Oh, One more thing, MTA/BTA parents we laugh at you when your players/coaches pass out suckers……....hmmm too easy.

to newbie: BTA/MTA is three times the cost of other clubs in the metro and from what I hear around town is that try outs was dismal given the hype and coaching staff is getting thinner by the month. Stay in the club and find out for yourself, plus I am sure you can afford it.

newbie comments on Minnesota Thunder Academy

Hi all, after readin the above posts please let me be upfront:
I'm new to soccer and bangu which kind of bites that we bought uniforms this summer and now the club is changing everything. oh well, that's how it goes. I do have a question which maybe some of the more tuned in persons could answer for me.
1. What is the MTA doing to ensure their club remains top notch competative with the youth development program down the road?
2. Are there other clubs I've heard of only a few in town of the same calibur we should look at too?

MTA comments on Minnesota Thunder Academy

state cup blah blah,

You also need to look at the current U15 and U14 teams, most of whom have come from the Bangu Academy program, and were not developed by the CC's.
