The Richest Man In The World

Article From: www.ryanlee.com

Last night, my wife and I attended a wake.

Our good friend, Mike, lost his father after a
4 year battle with cancer.

When we pulled up to the funeral home, there were
cars lined up for almost a mile. Over the past
few days, probably close to a thousand people
had come to pay their respects to Mike's dad.

He seemed like one of those guys who knew
everyone. He had six kids, ten grandchildren
and countless friends.

Lately, I've been to a lot of funerals - and
a funeral has a way of making you look closely
at your life and re-evaluate your path.

By the turnout, it was obvious Mike's dad
led a "rich" life.

You might know in addition to teaching people
have to get super fit, I also teach others
how to become financially independent.

Where I see people making a huge mistake is
getting caught up in just "making money", but
they lose sight of what's important and are
miserable along the way.

They believe it will all be ok because the
20 or so years of misery when they are finally
rich.

Unfortunately, once they reach their financial
goals, they realize it wasn't worth the price.

You'll usually find a trail of broken marriages,
upset friends and family members they no longer
speak to.

Believe me, even that expensive car you've
always dreamed of eventually loses it's appeal
after a few months.

You see, it's never been about money for me. It
was always something more.

I was happy when I was making 26k a year working
in a children's hospital. And I'm still happy
now, over 15 years later making much more than
that.

Here's something to write down and learn:

"If you are miserable without money, you are still
going to be miserable with money."

It's not about "things". That's why you never
see me posing in front of my house or cars. That's
why you won't see me driving a Bently.

I teach my methods to help people achieve their
financial goals WITHOUT having it take over their
life.

It's about finding a passion and turning that into
a profitable revenue stream.

It's about getting excited to wake up and start your
day.

It's not about working 18 hours a day at something
you can't stand doing.

When I left the funeral home I gave Mike a big
hug and we just started crying. But when I left
I had a sense of peach because I knew through
all of his dad's friends and family - his memory
will live on for a very long time.

I hope when it's my time to go, I can lay down and
know they I led a rich life. And it's not measured
by the size of my bank accound - but by the impact
I had on my friends and loved ones.

What kind of life do you want to live?

How many people are going to come to YOUR funeral and
have great stories to share about you?

Stay strong,
Ryan
