Third Day of National League Season sees an abundance of close matches

Home teams tally 17 goals as do away teams in highly competitive weekend

RALEIGH, North Carolina (November 25, 2007)
– Today marked the final day of play for the inaugural US Youth Soccer National League's first weekend of competition. As was the story during the first two days of competition, the final day in the first leg of play was evenly matched across all divisions.
In a battle for first place in the Boys Under-16 age group, the Dallas Texans 92 Red (3-0-0) stopped the streaking Manhattan Phoenix (2-2-0) 3-1 Sunday at the WRAL Soccer Center in Raleigh, NC to highlight the final day of the US Youth Soccer National League's first games. 
Meanwhile, the Chicago Wind (2-1-1), YMS Xplosion (2-1-0) and Texans FC 91/92 (2-1-0) all won their second matches of the season to stay within striking distance of the Texans. The Wind downed Midwest Region rival Arsenal Super Eagles (0-3-0) 3-1, while the Xplosion shutout the Slammers (1-2-0) 3-0 and the Texans came from behind with two second half goals to defeat Cobb FC (0-2-1) 2-1.
In Boys Under-15 action, 92 CASL Elite (2-1-0) moved into a tie for first place with a 1-0 win over the Michigan Wolves (0-2-1), as Kenneth Myer scored in the final of minute of play. Sharing first place are the Chicago Fire Jrs (2-1-0) who dropped a 1-0 decision to FC Delco (2-0-0) behind Zach Wolf's tally. Vardar (1-2-0) upset the defending US Youth Soccer National Champion Baltimore Casa Mia Bays 2-1 to close out Sunday Boys Under-15 action.
In Girls Under-16 action, the Eclipse Select 91-92 have yet to allow a goal in running their record 3-0-0 with a 2-0 shutout of the PDA Fire (1-1-1). The Dallas Texans Red 92 (2-0-1) and Ela Elite (2-0-1) kept within two points of Eclipse with wins on Sunday. The Texans downed Hurricane FC 92 Shubert (0-3-0) 2-0, while Ela scored a 1-0 win over So Cal Blues-Lippens (1-1-1). CFC United (1-2-0) earned in its first win edging the Syracuse Fury (0-3-0).
So Cal Blues-Dodge (3-0-0) kept their Girls Under-15 record perfect with a 2-1 victory over the KCFC Alliance Intensity (1-2-0). The Dallas Texans 93G Red (2-0-0) also maintained a perfect record with a 2-1 win over LDC United (0-3-0). Closing out Girls Under-15 action was a 1-1 draw between the PDA Tsunami (1-1-1) and Eclipse Select 92-93 (0-0-2).
